Top 10 silver shops in Cairo - And Online! - 2023 Edition
My post that I have written about the “top 10 silver shops in Cairo”, which I have written back in 2016, has been my most popular post to date. But it has been almost 7 years since that post has been published, and of course, a lot has changed.
Not my love for Silver jewellery, because I don’t think that will ever change. But in terms of jewellers, designers and silver shops, I still have a few favourites from that post back in 2016 like Onyx for example who will remain one of my all time favourite stops for silver. There are also other shops like Pandora, More & More, and Très Jolies that I did not mention on this list but are still great destinations for silver shopping.
But, over the course of the years, I have discovered much more and new designers have come into the market during this time who deserve to get a refreshed list.
So, without further ado, here are my top 10 silver shops in Cairo for 2023:
10.Markiz Silver:
I discovered Markiz at a time when zirconium was super trendy and those back front earrings were a new concept that was venturing beyond the traditional designs. Markiz was one of the first shops to introduce a wide variety of shapes of studs and back front ear jackets as well as some miss matching pairs. Although, now, they don’t have revolutionary designs, they remain however the destination for zirconium studded silver.
9. Islam Khalil
If you read Islam Khalil’s story you will be inspired by his success and equally by his set backs throughout his journey. But if you don’t read his story and just admire his designs, you will see his success shining through them like the Sun that inspired them. Islam Khalil’s Sun collection is a gift that keeps giving, it carries the Boho feel but as soon as you see it you can also associate it with luxury. It was the foundation stone to the rest of his collections that continue to rise every day just like the sun. You want to know the best part? The prices are not ridiculous!
8. Rokn El Fadda by Rana Mansour
If you want designs that reflect the boho and oriental silver styles without breaking the bank, this is the right shop for you! If you see a picture of their work once you will recognize their work every time. I love the fact that they mix mainstream designs like Arabic calligraphy with unique Indian inspired pieces and it works!
7. KOAY Silver
For the 7th and 6th place it was a hard competition and to be honest I would rank them both equally. Not only does KOAY offer a large selection and variety of styles at affordable prices, but they also have the best ordering, payment and delivery options out of this entire list. Their service and follow up are just amazing, on top of that its very hard to compete with their discounts and offers that they often promote.
6. Ruby’s Silver
Ruby has a unique design language that you will spot miles away. But this is also the shop you go to if you want customised pieces. Whether its a pendant with a loved one’s name on it or your favourite quote engraved on a bangle, you can always find something unique for yourself and equally for gifting.
5. Shafiaa El Wakil
Shafiaa El Wakil has made a name for herself as one of the most iconic Jewellery designers in egypt. She draws inspiration for her exquisite silver from the Egyptian culture. Although her designs are more on the pricy side, they are works of art that are both stylish and timeless at the same time. You want to make a statement? Then this is the place to go.
4.Saad of Egypt:
Saad is one of the oldest and most established silver shops in Egypt. Started in the sixties in Khan el Khalily they now have branches across Cairo but remain true to their heritage. The best thing about Saad is that they don’t stick to Jewelry and you can find a variety of silverware items from boxes to napkin holders and candelabras.
3.Sarah Zaki
The first time I saw one of Sarah Zaki’s flowers rings I fell in love. It was something straight out of a fairytale and reminded me of the artisan jewellery you would often find in little Parisian shops, which totally justifies the price!
2. Atef Wassef
On daily basis, I wear the ring I bought from Atef Wassef almost 7 years ago. I always change up my stack but this ring is one that just goeas with everything and it is always the most complimented ring I have. Even though, the design is quiet simple, the ring is eye catching, and that’s exactly what I would describe Wassef’s silver to be: “Eye catching” and authentic. They recently opened a store in openairmall and I am chuffed by the idea that they now have more locations for me to drool over their rings and bangles.
1. Azza Fahmy
No surprises here! It is not a post about jewellery or silver if Azza Fahmy is not on the list. The genius thing about this brand is that it always seems like everyone is copying their designs but at the same time, their designs are endlessly evolving while staying true to their roots. Azza Fahmy is more of an art destination than a jewellery shop at this point.
